Why Solar?

Load shedding has made solar a viable alternative in South Africa

Solar power promises significant cost savings in the long-term

Solar power is a sustainable way to become more energy efficient

How does solar power work?

To start powering your home or office using the
sun’s energy, you need three basic components:

Which are usually installed on the roof, ‘absorb’ energy from the sun. Each solar panel comprises many smaller units called photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert this light energy into direct current (DC) electricity. At Dako Power, we offer a 25-year warranty on our solar panels.

Which stores the generated solar power for use at night or rainy days. The battery has traditionally been the most vulnerable component in a solar system but the launch of the Tesla Powerwall, which will be available from Dako Power in the first quarter of 2016, is a game changer.

Which converts the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC), which is what we know as electricity to power our appliances etc. Dako Power is licensed to install the latest inverter solution from SolarEdge, which has been developed to allow for solar system integration with the Tesla Powewall.
